DSTC faculty have produced core competency and Non-Medical Health Factors resources for the AIM-AHEAD community. To support their use in training and research, we're offering a workshop series. This series, designed by a multidisciplinary team, covers existing resources, methods, and data standards for health improvement. It will facilitate analysis of integrated social and behavioral health data from various perspectives, including population health experts and policymakers. The workshops will range from introductory to advanced topics, featuring stakeholder engagement and highlighting innovative solutions for better health outcomes.
Live Lectures start on Friday April 17 at 3:00 PM ET.
Each week will alternate between Lectures one Friday then Office Hours the following Friday. Office hours start on April 20th at 3:00 PM ET. Please check course calendar for details and possible changes which will be announced if something upsets the schedule.

This workshop series explores existing resources, methods, data standards, policies, models, and interventions for individual and community health improvement. It will enable varying perspectives of population health experts, policymakers and health improvement implementers to explore and analyze large integrated data related to social and behavioral health.
The workshop offers introductory content as well as deep exploration of key topics as part of NMHF data including facilitated, expert stakeholder engagement. The workshop will also highlight inventive solutions to advance healthcare for everyone.
Learning Objective 1:
Participants will learn to analyze vast data sets to pinpoint current challenges, frame problems, and develop testable hypotheses. They will also gain expertise in using Non-Medical Health factors and data to understand patient-level needs and track the effectiveness of Medical and non-Medical interventions.
Learning Objective 2:
Participants will discover key resources and tools for analyzing health data, identifying factors that impact a broad range of populations. They will also learn about data structures and infrastructure needed to improve health access and quality.
Learning Objective 3:
Participants will learn the basics of data analytics and visualization, including data cleaning, restructuring, and preparation. The course covers statistical analysis and data visualization principles, with hands-on practice using Tableau. Interactive sessions will build technical skills.
